best monday night we ever had was at tantra. This place is for the romantic at heart and those with $$$ in there pockets. The atmosphere can't be beat here. The place is swarming with tons of people. The wine list is excellent, the food great, the service is great. We had a great dinner and stayed to party till 5am the best music! it was kinda hard to get a table in the lounge, its like a vip there, with pretty girls. But my boyfriend's friends told a manage that we will get a few bottles of cristal and problam was sold :) Cant wait to go back to miami and monday go to tantra .One of the best places in miami, if not the best !!!

Over the top evening at Tantra. I am impressed. I have heard about Tantra over the years but this was my first visit. My only regret is that I waited so long to patronize this place. The food was absolutely amazing. We were a large group and our food was served timely and the food presentations were beautiful, as was the staff I might add. And no pompous attitude either! I had the diver scallop appetizer special and the Lamb Duo entree. Both were exquisitely prepared and delightfully flavored. The rackoflamb was served with a slow braised lamb shank stew seasoned to perfection with a medley of Indian spices. This was the peak experience of my meal. Everyone at our table was raving about their menu choices. The entire experience was exceptional; from the dinner to the dessert, the DJ, the music, the dancing, the atmosphere, etc. Definitely a place I will make a ritual whenever I am in Miami. Well done!!

One of the most over-priced places ever -- mediocre food, mediocre service, and tacky decor. My husband and I just went to Tantra for his birthday dinner. We go out to eat a lot (we live in NYC and lived in Chicago before that). This restaurant wouldn't survive for 2 weeks in New York! The food was mediocre at best. My tuna tartar entree was so tough that I could barely saw through it and my husband's lobster risotto was literally floating in a greasy pool of butter. We had one cocktail, one glass of wine, 2 appetizers, and 2 entrees. The bill was $238! The service was unprofessional (two separate wait staff came at different times to tell us the specials and take our order; our entrees came out before we finished our appetizers; I ordered a glass of pinot noir and was brought a shiraz; etc. ). The decor was tacky and they put a huge bunch of red balloons in the middle of our table for my husband's birthday. As a result, we couldn't even see each other, so we moved them to another table. As much as we love South Beach...with its many excellent restaurants...we were very disappointed with Tantra on all levels and would not recommend it to anyone.

An utter was of time and money.... Hostess was so frazzled I find it hard to believe they let her run the door on a busy Monday night. The table we sat at for two was so close to the next that I think my booty grazed another guest?s plate when I was trying to take my seat. Server was great. I hope she makes money there because you can tell that with her poised attitude that she was far better than the other girls prancing around in minuscule skirts and backless shirts. I couldn't even find a thing on the menu that enticed me, which is strange because I frequently dine out, fine dine at that, love tasting new things and am quite adventurous when it comes to food, and I'm in the biz. I know what food and service are supposed to be like... and I must say food was terrible... starting first with the bread which was accompanied by a sun dried tomato dip which I found to absolutely horrible, so much so that I had to, inconspicuously, emit it into my napkin. I remember one of the appetizers which was a goat cheese and tomato something or other, in which I could have done a better job making it at home, the other app escapes me, totally forgettable. My entree was okay... I finally settled on the filet and it was cooked to temperature but nothing amazing in the least. My friend had the sea bass which hadn't an ounce of flavor. We had dessert, but cannot remember what it was other than the edible flowers that were brought with it. I think those were our favorite part. We also drank with dinner and at the end, the damage for two people to have a totally horrible meal was $350. I have not a problem in the least spending money on dining out... but this was such a waste. I'd choose Michy's, Michael's, Table 8 and even Prime 112 over this place any day. And to make matters worse, when we were trying to escape this place, I couldn't even get through to the exit because there were soo many people that we had to fight out way through, blocking any imaginable path to the exit. Take my word for it... NOT WORTH IT!

Great food, excellent house, and quintessential Miami /euro-trash crowd to boot.. Great food (try the Lamb and Filet) and excellent music (an array of deep, funky, rythmic and fun house mixes). However, on a Monday night, it's a little tough to get in. Coming from LA it was nice to get out and have a meal with that sorta music/scene. But as the crowd wore on, so did our patience. I recommend at least two hits of X to get through this night... Or bail by 2:30. It's a litlle rough after that, but great nonetheless!!

Best spot to go on Monday Nights!. House music all night long! What else can I say! Party starts around midnight and goes on until 5 AM. A little hard to get in sometimes without a reservation, so plan ahead and call.

Great restaurant and night club (Monday night). I ate dinner at Tantra last August. It was amazing. I did, however, hear that the restaurant was closed due to a health code violation lately. Regardless, my experience in August was great. I went back in December for bottle service on a Monday night. Got there around 12:30 AM, the place was packed with a great crowd. Told the bouncer we wanted a table with 2-3 bottle (3 guys, 6 girls), he took us in the back door to an awesome table in 5 minutes. The music was great and they had a live bongo play who rocked. The only downside is the bathroom situation. Since the place is small, there are only two toilets for men. Expect to wait 10 minutes every time you go. If you're ready to spend some money and have a big crowd, Tantra on Mondays is a must. Probably not a bad idea to call ahead and reserve a table.

Expensive but Cool. My girlfriends and I decided to try this place despite the poor reviews, but we decided to eat some snacks before heading out to save some dough. We got 2 apppetizers and 4 martinis and the total was $120.00! Sooooo expensive!! The food was yummy though. The place itself is really cool and has great decor and ambiance. The martinis are good too, just pricey. If money is no object and youre looking for a sexy vibe, then this is your place!!

Erotic cuisine and exotic atmosphere make dining a feast for all your senses.. In Short
Dark, mysterious and cozy, with a wall of water, a glass floor, plush dining couches and vaguely Moorish architectural details, Tantra breathes a sensual air. Starters include the Tantra Love Apple, a sliced tomato smeared with goat cheese and finished with basil oil. Filet mignon comes drizzled in black-coffee sauce, while the signature seared-raw tuna is served with opulent truffle-foie gras sauce. Save room for the molten chocolate cake with white-ginger center.
