Atmosphere, decor YES-Food NO. An energetic trendy environment, nice surroudings and decor, interesting people to look at...BUT the food is not at all at the level of the reputation; on top the servers are obnoxious if you are not a Star. The prices are above expectations for what you get: the cuisine of an upscale, trendy restaurant chain more interested with food cost than customer satisfaction....!!!

Go to the Bar inside, outside stop at the sushi bar (correct for what it is) but skip the Blue Door and go next door to Nobu at the Shore Club!

Superb Service. Our waitress went out of her way to please us. This is so unheard of on South Beach! The food is usually quite fresh & tasty here, but my fish was dry & overcooked. She insisted that I return it & show the chef. The others in my party had delicious meals & I didn't feel like sending it back. I'm glad that our lovely waitress insisted. I took the fish home (the Cobb Salad & crabcake were more than enough!) and sure enough, it was delicious for lunch the next day. Better that the first time around!

Perfect. The food, ambience, service, and, did I mention the food? were all perfect! After a nasty experience with the Delano's arrogant concierge, we were turned completely around by a delightful staff! They more than made up for the rude concierge! The waiters were so helpful, but not in that "clingy, hanging around your table" type. No attitude; just great service! The food was impeccable; lobster chunks "melted" in my mouth! What an indulgence!

Wonderful dining experience. Our experience at Blue Door was EXCELLENT! The decor there is to die for. It is absolutely the bomb, candles everywhere and wonderful furnishings. I had the Red Snapper which was delicious and had an appetizer that was lump crabmeat and avocado which was delicious as well. The service was wonderful also. This is a fabulous restaurant

Superb in every way. Down from NYC on a weekend trip, my boyfriend and I had the great fortune of ending up at Blue Door. It goes without saying that the Delano is one of the most lovely and romantic hotels in the world, but we weren't prepared for the perfection we found at the restaurant. We waited a mere 20 minutes for a table without a reservation on a saturday night. After starting with an exquisite mojito, we found ourselves in culinary heaven. Try the lobster with plantains and raisins..... it brought tears to my eyes! So delicious! The service was impeccable - no attitude, very warm and friendly, unlike some of the other snobbish Ian Schrager holes. We didn't want to leave this little piece of heaven.

Blue Door Beauty!. Blue Door has the most romantic and delicate decor. I want those candles! The food was good but not great. We had the duck and lobster which were fresh and tasty but not as creative as I thought it would be. The service is excellent and the desert should be skipped. Also the bar was filled with B&T! A little dissapointing but still worth trying the restaurant.

A Real Turkey. Thanksgiving "dinner" was truly the joke of jokes. Unfortunately, the joke was squarely on the patrons.

Fixed price turkey dinner for four came to $590, including a mandatory 20% tip ($90) which applied to the fairly priced $100 wine as well as the cafeteria food.

A microscopic, poorly prepared appetizer was, in hindsight, good as compared to the cold, processed-like turkey, itself accompanied by stuffing that was worse. Still, this whole sticky mess took two hours to appear!! In short, we came early and stayed late, though certainly not by choice. The experience has left me wondering if the Thanksgiving leftovers are being saved for the lucky Christmas diners.

Best on the Beach. This place is for the romantic at heart and those with $$$ in there pockets. The atmosphere can't be beat here. The place is swarming with tons and tons of people. The wine list is excellent, the food great, the service is good. A table outside is very romantic setting, but with the Miami humidity...it could back fire on you. One of the best places on the beach, if not the best !!!!!!!

THIS PLACE IS WORTH IT. I've panned a lot of places I went to during my stay at South Beach but this place was a real refreshing change of pace. The food was great, the service was almost impeccable. It was a little pricey but worth it. Id recommend this place over many of the highly publicized places like tantra (which sucks by the way). The atmosphere alone is well worth the cost.
