What People Are Saying About Wish Restaurant

In Short – Situated on the prime dining strip of Collins Avenue, Wish brings exotic culinary creations to the masses. The indoor bar and outdoor dining areas are perpetually packed, but they're also good places to wait-out a table. The menu boasts standards like grilled chicken, barbecued shrimp and mashed potatoes with kicked-up Caribbean accents like pineapple glaze, smoky curry powder and cilantro butter, respectively.
Nice outdoor atmosphere but food dissapointing

Just O.K. Nothing special Positive: sauteed foie gras very good. Tuna, not so good. I love tuna, but this was tough and chewy (waiter said chewiness was due to it being marinated in cachaca (Brazilian sugar cane alcohol) ). Suspect they get a lot of tourists who are impressed by ambience and don't expect much. I'm a South Beach local who is used to NY, Tokyo and Paris, so maybe I'm jaded. $212 for two w/o wine (just two glasses of champagne). No value.
- Pros: Ambience
- Cons: Food below par for cost
Very romantic
by yoyo1010
I was looking for a romantic restaurant in Miami. I looked up soooo many restaurant reviews and finally decided to go to Wish. The quality of food was excellent. the chef knows how to cook! It was a great experience. I didn't know that pork can be tasted so fantastic like that..and also many other dishes..etc. It is pricy, but was worth it. Almost 200 for two ppl, including tip, a bottle of wine and shared app and dessert. I was very very full at the end. Also very good lighting. you will look pretty if you are here for a date :)
Best Dining Experience in Miami
by mmuller2
I travel to Miami about once a year and enjoy eating my way through South Beach each time. I've had some amazing meals - among my favorites would be Nobu, Escopazzo and Sushi Samba. However, I've never had an entire dining experience like I had at Wish.
Food:
The menu was interesting and the food was excellent. I have particular challenges as I have some pretty significant dietary restrictions. The chef obviously didn't have the typical top chef ego - and was willing to work with us on every meny item we inquired about (took out ingredients I didn't like or couldn't eat, and the food was still delicious). I've had experiences where I've been told that the food would "Suffer" if the dish was altered -- but obviously - based on this experience - if the chef is talented and willing to work with you - it doesn't have to suffer.
Service:
I wouldn't be writing this review if it was simply the basics (yes, food came on time, waitress was friendly). But, the waitress was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the entire menu. She was able to decribe each dish in a way that made your mouth water. Additionally, I made her aware of my dietary restrictions, and for every dish, she made sure to assure me that all of my restrictions were taken care of. And the cherry on top -- she made sure to tell us, when she brought the check, that gratuity was included. I've never experienced this -- Generally I feel that the wait staff hopes you don't notice and leave extra. Needless to say, I left extra tip anyway.
Ambience:
While I always appreaciate a nice ambience, I've never appreciated it like this. You sit in an unbelievable beautiful garden with gurgling fountains and beautiful lighting. Our table was excellent -- private but with a nice view of the restaurant. It didn't look to me like there was any bad table in the entire restaurant.
Overall - if you go to one retaurant in Miami - go to Wish!
- Pros: Everything - Food, Service, Ambience
- Cons: Nothing - this place is great and worth every penny
