HALLOWEEN SUNDOWNER 2009: Come in costume--and with your $125 ticket--for the fancy soiree at the palatial estate on Oct. 24 from 8pm to 12am. The soiree's fundraising efforts benefit Vizcaya's renovation and restoration.
DR. WILDE'S SCREAMATORIUM: Debuting this year at the zoo is a 7,000-square-foot haunted house. Scenes depict graveyards, menacing butcher shops and zombies. It's all topped with a classic rock soundtrack featuring deceased legends Jimi Hendix and Janis Joplin. Admission is $5 and the walk-through attraction will be open from Oct. 10 through Halloween.
MONSTER SPLASH: The city's only marine life amusement park is kicking things up a notch in 2009, adding carnival rides and a "Buried Alive" haunted house for adults. Those who don't want to brave the spooky walk-through can still enjoy candy stations and themed marine shows. The event runs on Oct. 24-25 and Oct. 30 from 5pm to 11pm, from 7pm until 11pm on Oct. 28-29, and from 5pm until midnight on Halloween itself.
SPOOKY ADVENTURES: Young train lovers are invited for a ride through Spooky Forest, capped off with rail-related crafts and Halloween storytelling. This family-friendly event promises to be "scary-- but not too scary." It runs from 6pm to 10pm on Oct. 30-Nov 1.
