Best of Citysearch Miami Restaurants
Updated: October 21, 2009
It's time to chow down. Whether you're a foie gras-chewing foodie or never satisfied until you're smeared in barbecue sauce, Miami has plenty of great places to grab a bite. We're kicking off our Best of Citysearch campaign to seek out your favorite places to eat around town. What's the name of that sushi place you keep raving about? Where's that happening lunch spot you hit every Friday? Just go to that business listing on our site, click on the "Nominate for Best of Citysearch" tab and vote! To get you in the spirit, here are a few of my personal favorites.

Michael's Genuine Food & Drink
Read Reviews130 NE 40th St, Miami, FL 33137 (map)
(Best fine dining) I remember the first time I tried the watermelon with pork belly at this Design District institution. It was daring. It was outrageous. It was unreal. I've seen a few other chic eateries run with Michael Schwartz's menu creations, but you have to give it up for the original.

Randazzo's Little Italy
Read Reviews150 Giralda Avenue, Coral Gables, FL 33134 (map)
(Best Italian) It's hard to go wrong at this red sauce joint that oozes atmosphere. The signature Sunday Gravy is served in a portion so huge that it can feed me for days. The menu's a hoot, too. When the cannoli claims to be 10,000 calories--tempting you to indulge because "you're no model"-- it's hard not to chuckle.

Prime 112 Restaurant
Read Reviews112 Ocean Dr, Miami Beach, FL 33139 (map)
(Best steak) Believe the hype. This South Beach chophouse is a hit with celebrities. Movie stars and athletes may not know a lot about good food, but their publicists sure do. Beyond the modern decor and choice cuts of meat, stray from the traditional on the sides. The rum-baked sweet plantains pack a wallop of flavor that you won't find in the baked potato at your grandfather's favorite old school steakhouse.

OneBurger

(Best Hamburger) Five Guys has invaded South Florida. Le Tub is also famous for its double-fisted burger. I love them all, but if I had to pick just one place it would be this risk-taking joint. Where else will you find toppings like goat cheese, blackened beans or brie? The yucca fries also offer a starchier twist on the traditional potato fries.

Rosa Mexicano - Miami
Read Reviews900 S Miami Ave, Miami, FL 33130 (map)
(Best Mexican) Order a side of guacamole at this financial district restaurant and your server will be stomping avocados at your table. The Mexican food is that fresh. It's easy to stand out against the sea of suits having their power lunches by day, but couples and families take over at night.

Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza
Write a review10205 S. Dixie Hwy, Pinecrest, FL 33156 (map)
(Best pizza) There have been plenty of great pizzerias opening around town lately, but it's hard to top Anthony's. True to the restaurant's name, thin-dough pies are baked in a coal-burning oven. The magnetic specialty item is the pizza topped with ricotta cheese and baby meatballs. First-timers cringe when their pies arrive with outer crusts burned black, but they forgive quickly and return often after that first bite.
